axpand face uses the internet to provide access to all of the functionality in axpand without local software installation or the costly acquisition and maintenance of expensive hardware. Here's how it works:

The owner of data has a protected space where data is stored. This can be in the form of geo-data or maps. The data provider allows his partners or customers to access the maps. According to the subscription that a partner has, certain functionality in axpand is available as a so-called web service. For example, a collaborative partner will be able to view and manipulate data as well as add graphics to existing maps. Certain types of output are available as well. These include .pdf, .jpg, .gif and more. According to his subscription, the user may also be allowed to send his maps as e-mails or to mobile devices.

Web services are available as several different 'packages' of functionality from simple viewing and output to more complex combinations of automated generalization, manipulation of vector data, uploading of geo-data,  addition and adjustment of map styles and symbols and various types of output.
